Norway

Essential to a Norwegian breakfast are grain-rich brown bread and a variety of pålegg, the toppings served on bread. Our selection included cod roe paste known as kaviar, Jarlsberg cheese with its distinctive holes, mackerel in tomato sauce, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with dill. We also served rye bread and grain-rich knekkebrød crispbread with caramel-like brown cheese, a Norwegian favorite, and blueberry yogurt. Norwegian drinks and desserts included coffee from Oslo’s FUGLEN COFFEE ROASTERS and charming heart-shaped Norwegian waffles.

Norway is a long, narrow country on the western side of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Its western coastline is carved into magnificent fjords by glaciers. In the far north, within the Arctic Circle, summer brings the midnight sun, while winter brings bitter cold and days without sunrise. This is a country shaped by wild, majestic nature.
